Open Competition for Head of Garda Information Services Centre (Principal Officer)

An Garda Síochána is committed to the principle of information led policing, maximising the value of data to the organisation, external stakeholders and citizens. The Garda Information Services Centre (GISC) plays a critical role in this information lifecycle by working with Garda members to ensure that data on every incident is recorded consistently and accurately. The high quality data supplied by GISC underpins both analytics and the supply of information to frontline Gardaí that helps them keep people safe. 

This is a Principal Officer position reporting directly to the Chief Information Officer. The person appointed will take overall responsibility for the delivery of all GISC services and ensuring that these services operate efficiently and reliably to critical standards and timelines and meet internal and external customer expectations. 

In addition to the delivery of operational services, the appointee will also be expected to take a lead role in the strategic development of GISC.
