Wiki Loves Earth is an international photographic competition to promote natural heritage sites around the world through Wikimedia projects (mainly Wikipedia and Wikimedia Commons), and this is the all-Ireland edition. Everybody can participate! There are a lot of natural heritage sites across the island of Ireland, and the goal of Wiki Loves Earth is to encourage people to take pictures of those natural sites, and to put them under a free license so that others may access them through the Internet. The contest will take place from 1 June 2021 to 30 June 2021.
Photos may have been taken at any time. The key criteria to be eligible for the contest are that they are to be uploaded to Wikimedia Commons in June 2021… and that they have been taken by you, of course!There is no minimum age to participate, and there is no participation fee. Besides WLE being a competition, it is first a fun activity, ideal for families. The competition also allows us to share our unique natural environment, while improving our photographic talents!
The contest was initiated and first held (as pilot) by Wikimedia Ukraine in 2013, with 2020 being Ireland’s first time taking part in the competition!
Rules

- two megapixel minimum image
- be taken by you
- be of a protected area in Ireland can include flora and fauna of the area
- be described with the location, and co-ordinates if possible
- be uploaded between 1-30 June 2021
