Met Éireann has issued a Status Yellow snow and ice warning for Cavan, Donegal, Monaghan, Leitrim and Sligo from midnight until noon on Thursday. An Arctic air mass is moving over Ireland, bringing widespread frost, icy roads and the chance of sleet or snow.

Today will feel cold, with temperatures between 6 and 10 degrees and fresh northwest winds. Tonight will be even colder, dropping to -1 degrees, with clear skies and wintry showers in the north and west, including hail, sleet and some snow on higher ground.
Tomorrow will stay cold with sunshine and scattered wintry showers, especially in the north and northwest. Temperatures on Wednesday night could fall to -3 degrees, leading to widespread frost and icy patches.
Thursday will begin cold and frosty with a few wintry showers, mainly in the west and north. It will turn very cold again Thursday night before milder Atlantic air moves in on Friday, bringing rain, cloud and temperatures rising up to 11 degrees in western areas.
