A coordinated effort is underway in Dublin to clear the area around the International Protection Office, where a makeshift encampment, often referred to as “tent city,” had formed. With a significant Garda presence, asylum seekers are being relocated to alternative shelter, following assurances from the Taoiseach that such developments would not be permitted in the future. According to reports, individuals are being assisted in packing their belongings as they prepare to board buses to their new accommodations. Concerns from local residents and businesses, as well as international attention, have drawn focus to the encampment, which had been growing over the past year. Approximately 200 asylum seekers are expected to be relocated, marking a significant step in addressing the issue.
