Three best friends from North Dublin inspired and impressed their entire community with their fundraising efforts for the Irish Cancer Society and ARC.
The best buddies bit the bullet and dyed their hair pink to raise funds for for their chosen charities.
11-year-old Charlie Bredican started the fundraiser in memory of his mum who died of pancreatic cancer in 2018.
He was aided by his best friends with no questions asked as the trio have been inseparable since Junior Infants.
As the money poured in, Charlie, Tom and Seán have been blown away by the massive support from the GAA club, neighbours and local businesses nearby.
Charlie explained on the fundraising page, how his reasons for the massive hair transformation and set an original target of €800.
He wrote: “In 2018, my amazing Mum, Deborah, passed away and ever since we have missed her dearly.
“We have all been touched by Cancer in one way or another through friends or family.
“I would like to do as much as I can to give back to ARCas they helped me and my family get through those tough times.
“We also would like contribute to the Irish Cancer Society to help other people going through cancer.”
Joanne, who is Seán’s proud mum and was a very close friend of Deborah’s expressed how she is extremely proud of the three boys who were committed to the project from start to finish.
She said: “It was actually Charlie’s idea to go ahead with the fundraiser so he got Seán and Tom on board with him.
“The three lads went out to Malahide and Charlie’s cousin Ellen (who is Deborah’s godchild) actually works in the salon.
“The salon opened up for the day and they bleached the boys’ hairs bright pink. “
Joanne expressed how the the two had chosen charities provided much needed support to Charlie and his family after his mum’s death.
