Transport Infrastructure Ireland (TII) has announced that toll rates for several motorways and the Dublin Port Tunnel will increase from 2025.
A 10-cent increase will be applicable on the M50 to cars, buses, coaches, and light goods vehicles without a registered tag or video account. However, vehicles with these accounts will not face any increase.
For heavy goods vehicles (HGVs) over 10,000kg using the M50, those with a tag or video account will see a 10-cent rise, while unregistered HGVs will face a 20-cent hike.
The Dublin Port Tunnel will see a notable increase of €1 for southbound traffic during peak morning hours, with the toll going up from €12 to €13.
TII explained that the increase in the Dublin Port Tunnel toll is aimed at maintaining capacity for HGVs, which will continue to benefit from free travel in the tunnel at all times.
Tolls on eight other major roads, including the M1, M3, M4, M7/M8, M8, the N18 Limerick Tunnel, and the N25 Waterford, will also see a 10-cent rise for buses, coaches, and HGVs. On the M3, however, tolls for HGVs under 3,500kg will remain unchanged.
For cars, tolls will stay the same on these routes, except for the M4 from Kilcock to Kinnegad, where a 10-cent increase has been confirmed.
