Danone has issued a further recall of infant formula products after a toxin was detected in selected batches of Aptamiland Cow & Gate baby milk.

The toxin identified is cereulide, which is produced by the bacterium Bacillus cereus. Consumption of food containing this toxin can cause nausea and vomiting, particularly dangerous for infants. Danone had already recalled some baby food products earlier this month, and this recall expands that list.
The affected products were manufactured in Ireland and exported to several European and international markets. Irish authorities confirmed that the issue was linked to ARA oil, an ingredient used in infant nutrition, which was sourced from China. The same ingredient was cited in a recent recall involving Nestlé products.
The Food Safety Authority of Ireland (FSAI) is working closely with Danone to ensure consumer safety and traceability.
