Organised by Cork City Council in conjunction with Creative Ireland, Cruinniú na Óg will take place in Cork this Saturday June 12th. The national day of creativity will feature over 30 free interactive and imaginative events for children and young people hosted by 26 Cork cultural organisations.
In celebration of Cruinniú na nÓg, Cork City Arts Office invites children and young people to bake an edible artwork, take a photo and send into the Arts Office where they will be in with an opportunity to win gift vouchers kindly sponsored by The Gingerbread House and M&P O’Sullivan and Brennan’s Caterworld.
The theme of this challenge is ‘Treats on the Streets’ and we are calling on all Cork’s young bakers to bring their creative ideas about Cork to life through an edible medium which can be cake, cupcakes, cookies, cake pops, cakesicles or sugar moulding.
So, whether you decide to recreate your favourite landmark or a beloved local beauty spot, we encourage you to have fun making your creation inspired by our city! Don’t forget to take a photo of your creation and upload it to https://submit.link/eg which can be found by clicking on www.corkcity.ie/cnn
Renowned sugar sculptor Maureen Timpson will award prizes for the most creative responses to the theme in two categories:
- Under 10s
- 11-18 years
