Spanish banking group Bankinter has announced its forthcoming entry into the Irish banking market, with plans to offer a range of digital services, including deposits. Until the necessary Irish permit is obtained, Bankinter will operate in the country using its existing Spanish license.
Under the brand name Avant Money, Bankinter is already providing mortgages to individuals in Ireland. However, despite its expansion, Bankinter will not establish physical branches in Ireland. Instead, all banking transactions will be conducted digitally through its platform known as Avant.
In a statement released on Friday, Bankinter expressed its intention to gradually expand its services beyond deposits, indicating a broader involvement in the Irish banking sector. This move signals Bankinter’s commitment to delivering innovative financial solutions to the Irish market.
