St.Patrick’s Day Parade In Kilcock
The Kilcock Indian Community has won the ‘Best Non-Commercial Float’ award during the St.Patrick’s day Parade 2023 in Kilcock. It is the first time the Kilcock Indian community is participating in the St.Patrick’s Day Parade and has made its presence known by winning the award at the parade where approximately 40 floats competed.
The community members performed Thiruvathira, a unique dance performed in Kerala on the auspicious day of Thiruvathira. The students of Natyangana School of Dance performed Bharatanatyam, in front of the dignitaries and the people of Kilcock, making it a very special experience for everyone.
The community members posing as St.Patrick and Mahabali, and the Pulikali act, recreational folk art from the state of Kerala, India, added extra flavor to the event.
Community members from the length and breadth of India have participated in the parade wearing ethnic attires and Irish colors, dancing to a variety of Indian popular musical hits making the parade all the more colorful.
The organizers said that this is a reflection of the success of unity and solidarity in Indian society.
