Three persons have been taken into custody by the Garda during a significant operation in Limerick targeting criminal activities.
Members of the Limerick Garda Division and the Criminal Assets Bureau, assisted by the Garda Armed Support Unit, Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau and Garda Dog Unit, searched 18 premises around Limerick city and county on Thursday.
The garda, assisted by members of the Defence Forces, also searched two open pieces of land in the Southill region.
€64,600 in suspected amphetamine and €89,600 in suspected cannabis were found during the searches.
Along with a BMW, some luxury jewellery, many devices, and six shotgun shells, money totaling €76,580 was also seized.
Garda verified that other credit union accounts totaling $18,000 had further been blocked.
Three guys in their 30s and 40s have been held in Garda stations in the Limerick area after being arrested in connection with the operation.
Gardaí said investigations into the matter are ongoing.
