Cyclist (60s) seriously injured after being hit by car in Co Kildare

A man in his 60s has been airlifted to hospital in a serious condition following a car,cycle collision in Co Kildare.

Gardaí and ambulance attended the scene on Station Road, Allenwood,  Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following the collision occured before 2.00pm on Wednesday.

The man, a cyclist aged in his early 60s, was seriously injured when he was hit by a car. The driver of the car, a female aged in her 20s, also was uninjured.

He was airlifted from the scene by the Air Corp Ambulance to Beaumont Hospital.

Diversions are in place as Forensic Collision Investigators conducted a technical examination of the scene.

Gardaí are appealing to any road users who may have video footage, or anyone who witnessed the incident on Station Road, to come forward. They are asked to contact Naas Garda station at 045-884-300, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800-666-111 or any Garda station.
