According to The Journal, four major cost of living support payments announced in Budget 2025 will be distributed this week, as confirmed by Social Protection Minister Heather Humphreys.
The payments include:
- A €300 Fuel Allowance lump sum to over 400,000 households
- Double Child Benefit payment on Tuesday to 667,000 families, covering 1.2 million children
- €400 Disability Support Payment from Wednesday to Friday for 213,000 people
- €400 Working Family Payment on Thursday to 46,000 households
All payments will be made automatically to eligible recipients on their usual payment days, with no application required. Minister Humphreys stated these payments aim to “ease the pressure and stress that many households are facing.”
Additional support measures are planned for the coming weeks, including a €400 Carer’s Support payment, another double Child Benefit payment, and Christmas Bonus payments scheduled for early December.
