Dublin has witnessed the highest upswing in hiring activity among the 50 largest metropolitan areas globally between January and June this year, according to new data from LinkedIn.
The professional network’s analysis shows Dublin as the only euro zone city showing positive hiring momentum during this period.
The LinkedIn Hiring Rate study compared cities such as New York, Paris, and Rome, with Dublin emerging as a standout performer.
Internationally, job search activity is also intensifying, with Ireland ranking sixth globally in job search intensity for 2024. This signals strong demand from job seekers, even as hiring growth remains concentrated in a few regions.
Ireland also remains a leader in hybrid and remote work opportunities, ranking second in Europe for the availability of these types of roles. However, the number of such opportunities is in decline.
Over the past year, hybrid roles have decreased by 12.5 per cent, and remote positions have fallen by 14.8 per cent, reflecting a shift in the labor market as companies adjust their workforce strategies.
