Fuel prices hold steady for third consecutive month according to AA Ireland

Motorists across Ireland have experienced a period of price stability at the pumps, with the latest AA Ireland Fuel Survey for April revealing that fuel prices have remained unchanged for the third month in a row.

According to the report, petrol continues to be priced at an average of €1.80 per litre, while diesel holds steady at €1.77 per litre. The cost of running electric vehicles has also remained consistent following a decrease reported in last month’s survey.

Elena Leao, Marketing & PR representative at AA Ireland, cautioned that despite the welcome stability, current prices are still higher than those seen earlier in the year.

“While we’re not seeing any increases this month, prices remain relatively high compared to earlier in the year. That makes it even more important for drivers to stay savvy and adopt fuel-efficient habits that help keep costs manageable,” Leao stated.

For electric vehicle owners, Leao highlighted that costs have remained favorable, noting that “the savings compared to traditional fuel remain attractive.” She advised EV drivers to maximize their savings by utilizing off-peak charging and specialized electricity plans designed for EV owners.

The ongoing price stability comes amid fluctuating global oil markets, suggesting that Irish retailers have been able to maintain consistent pricing despite external pressures. Motorists are encouraged to continue implementing fuel-saving practices such as proper vehicle maintenance, efficient driving techniques, and strategic refueling to manage their transportation budgets effectively.
