Heavy Rainfall Warning for Cork and Kerry

Met Éireann has issued a status yellow warning for heavy rain in Cork and Kerry, effective from 3am to 9am on Thursday. The warning highlights the potential for spot flooding, particularly in parts of Kerry and west Cork.

Residents are advised to expect difficult travelling conditions and poor visibility during the early morning hours. The heaviest rain is expected in mountainous areas.

Wednesday will remain dry with a mix of cloud and sunny spells, reaching highs of 18°C. However, the weather will turn unsettled tonight as rain moves eastward across the country, becoming heavy in the west and southwest.

Thursday will start wet and overcast, with widespread rain, heavy at times, clearing northeastwards through the day. Scattered showers will follow from the west, but rain may persist in the northeast until nightfall. Temperatures will again reach up to 18°C.

The weekend outlook is also rainy, with widespread and heavy showers on Friday, possibly including isolated thunderstorms and hail. Showers will ease Friday night, but Saturday will be cloudy with heavy showers. Sunday will see a mix of sunny spells and heavy showers.
