he banner which calls for a united Ireland was found removed from the west Belfast tower block. The banner was so huge as it covered six floors of the Davis tower. The banner had a Sinn Fein logo and it said ” A United Ireland is for everyone. Let’s talk about it”.
DUP councillor Brian Kingston had forwarded the issue to the PSNI and Belfast City Council and he said that the erection of the banner was done without securing the planning permission and permission of the owner. It may also cause harm to the building and people once it get blown off. He also asked for an investigation from the Housing Executive on how the banner was erected.
Housing Executive is under great pressure as they have to reveal on how unauthorised personnel got to the top which poses serious safety and security issues. PSNI thinks that the banner was removed by a third party on knowing the awareness made by them last Sunday.
