Hurricane Beryl leaves Indian cricket team stranded in Barbados after T20 World Cup win

Post the T20 World Cup win, the Indian men’s cricket team have been stranded in Barbados due to a hurricane warning.

They were supposed to fly back home via a charter flight, but the airport has been closed since Sunday evening.

Hurricane Beryl has strengthened into an “extremely dangerous” category 4 storm, with the centre of the storm expected to pass about 70 miles south of Barbados on Monday morning, the Guardian reported, citing Barbados’s meteorological service.

On Saturday, the Rohit Sharma-led side defeated South Africa in a nail-biting finale to lift the 2024 T20 World Cup in Barbados.
