Tech giant IBM has unveiled plans to hire 800 professionals in Ireland, marking a significant investment in artificial intelligence (AI) technology. The move is poised to bolster Ireland’s standing as a global AI hub, offering employment opportunities spanning software development, research and development, digital sales, and consulting roles.
The positions will be distributed across IBM’s centers in Dublin and Cork, as well as at Red Hat in Waterford, a subsidiary of IBM. This initiative, supported by the Irish government and IDA Ireland, underscores IBM’s longstanding presence in Ireland, spanning over 65 years. Notably, Ireland hosts IBM Research’s sole EU facility, further solidifying its strategic importance in IBM’s global operations.
The investment, slated for completion within three years, underscores IBM’s commitment to advancing AI capabilities while catalyzing economic growth in Ireland.
