India has extended the ban on scheduled International commercial passenger service flights to and from India till September 30, 2021. India first issued the circular regarding this on May 26, 2020 and the Office of the Director General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) today confirmed the extension of ban in a written statement on Twitter. The surge in Covid patients in the country in recent days is believed to be the reason for extension.
Meanwhile international all-cargo operations and flights specifically approved by DGCA are excluded, the statement reads. International flights on selected routes shall also be allowed on case to case basis.
