Indian-origin Reni Abraham Chacko has been recognised and appointed as one of the Peace Commissioners for Ireland. With that, he is an authorised signatory for any document or ID verification in Ireland.
Minister for Justice, Simon Harris, passed the order appointing Renee Abraham Chacko as Peace Commissioner for County Tipperary.
Reni Abraham Chacko, a resident of Clonmel and manager of Rathkevan Nursing Home, is the first person of Indian origin to be elected as Peace Commissioner from Tipperary County.
The Tipperary County’s first Indian-origin peace commissioner, Reni Abraham Chacko, expressed his sincere gratitude to everyone who helped him get there and to everyone who has supported him. As the county of Tipperary’s Peace Commissioner, he promised to do everything in his power to guarantee that everyone in the county had access to legal assistance.
A Peace Commissioner is an honorary position in Ireland with special powers and whose role is to primarily taking statutory declarations, and witnessing signatures on documents required by various authorities. Peace Commissioners have the power to issue summons and warrants and to sign certificates and orders under various Acts of the Oireachtas
