A landmark €190 million development is set to transform an eight-acre site in south Dublin’s Cherrywood into Ireland’s first dedicated winter sports and entertainment arena.

Backed by Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council, the project is led by Prime Arena Holdings, which aims to submit planning documents by September.
The venue will serve as the future home of Dublin’s first professional ice hockey franchise.
The arena will feature two full-sized Olympic ice rinks, a high-performance training centre for elite athletes, and a versatile indoor arena accommodating 5,000 seated or 8,000 standing attendees.
Beyond sports, the facility is expected to host 50–70 events annually, ranging from concerts and international exhibitions to large-scale corporate events.
