Dunnes Stores in Ireland have recalled their own brand Luxury Apple Pie as it contains undeclared ingredients which may pose as a threat to consumers with food allergies.
It so happened that the tarts were accidentally mis-packed with a similar product, Dunnes Stores Pear and Almond Pie, reports the Food Safety Authority of Ireland (FSAI).
Despite the fact that both products having a similar packaging, the pear and almond pie contains nuts- an allergen which is not mentioned on the Luxury Apple Pie label.
The batch with the use by date of 4/10/2021 is “unsafe for consumers who are allergic to or intolerant of almonds,” said the FSAI.
