Ireland will experience an Indian summer for two weeks in August, predicted Met Eireann. Long sunny spells and sunshine will be prevalent for two weeks starting from August 20 and continue beyond September 2. An Indian summer is a period of unseasonably warm, dry weather that sometimes occurs in autumn in temperate regions of the northern hemisphere, according to Wikipedia.
Though dry weather and above 20C temperature may experience, the climate won’t be same as the mini-heatwave delivered by Azores High last month, The Independent reports. Mostly the south and east region will see long spells of sunshine. A high-pressure zone will settle over Ireland for more than a fortnight and feed in an east to southeast airflow, bringing warm, dry weather to the country, further says the report. Showers will also be below normal levels.
The tourist officials hope that the climate will encourage Irish holiday makers to stay home which will help in the recovery of country’s collapsed tourism economy due to pandemic.
