Christopher Nolan has announced his next film titled ‘Oppenheimer’ with Irish actor Cillian Murphy. Murphy, who had had frequent collaborations with Nolan will be playing role of the physicist J. Robert Oppenheimer in this historical drama film.
The story revolves around Robert Oppenheimer who was part of running the Los Alamos Laboratory and involved in the Manhattan Project. He is known as the “father of the atomic bomb.” The movie is based on the Pulitzer Prize-winning book American Prometheus: The Triumph and Tragedy of J Robert Oppenheimer by Kai Bird and Martin J. Sherwin.
Murphy and Nolan has worked together in Batman Begins, Inception and Dunkirk before.
Universal Pictures produces ‘Oppenheimer’ along with Emma Thomas and Atlas Entertainment’s Charles Roven.
The movie will be shot on IMAX camera like much of Nolan’s previous films and the release will be on July 21, 2023.
