Irish actress Jessie Buckley has received her first Oscar nomination for her role in The Lost Daughter. She received a nomination for Best Supporting Actress category in 2022 Oscars.
The Lost Daughter is a psychological thriller film directed by famous actress Maggie Gyllenhaal in her feature film directorial debut. Buckley plays the younger version of the lead character played by actress Olivia Colman. The film also stars Dakota Johnson in a pivotal role.
Olivia Colman also is nominated for this time’s Oscar in Best Actress category and this marks history as both the actresses played the different versions of the same character in a same film receive nominations.
Jessie Buckley hails from Killarney and the 32-year-old formerly appeared in movies such as Wild Rose and Judy.
