Irish Indian-origin man found dead in Kerala during holiday

Liso Devassi, a 48-year-old resident of Drogheda, has been found dead in Kerala while on holiday. He was the son of Angamaly Thachil Devassi and had returned to Kerala two weeks prior.

Liso’s family filed a missing person complaint with police on Wednesday after he disappeared. His body was later discovered at Uliannur Kadavil in Periyar.

Liso was an HSE employee who originally lived in Kilkenny before moving to Drogheda several years ago. He is survived by his wife Chulli Thiruthanathil Linsey, a CNM nurse at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda, and their two children, Nikitha and Patrick.

A funeral service will be held today at 4:30pm at St. George’s Basilica in Angamaly.

The circumstances surrounding his death have not been detailed in the available information. The Indian-origin community in Ireland will be grieving the loss of one of their members, and the incident will likely be felt deeply within both the diaspora and the wider Irish community where Liso lived and worked.
