Irish Olympian Jack Woolley was assaulted along with some other innocent people by a group of youngsters in Dublin on Friday night. The 22-year-old taekwondo contestant in Tokyo Olympics posted his photos after assault on Instagram and described the shocking experience he had near River Liffey. He had facial injuries, now being treated in the hospital and expecting a surgery.
The incident happened on Friday night after he and a friend of his went on outing. A group of 8-12 people including men and women in their 20s were suddenly attacking people around River Liffey without any provocation. Jack Woolley was one of the victims who got a hard punch on the face by an assailant. The group attacked many others in the area and some of them got treatment in hospitals after injury. Later Garda came to help Woolley and others.
