Fast-growing Irish packaging company Zeus plans to create 40 jobs with the opening of a new logistics facility in Watergrasshill in Cork.
The 70,000 square feet facility is on course to start operations in April.
The new jobs, which will be created over the next 18 months, will be focused on logistics, distribution, commercial and administration.
The new location is one of four main facilities that will be spread out around the island as part of Zeus’s national logistics and distribution plan.
With the recent acquisition of the Polish business Polpack, Zeus has increased revenues by €75 million over the past year.
“As Zeus has expanded organically through strategic acquisition, we now need to future-proof our operational capacity and capability in line with both customer expectation and company growth,” Adrian Lannon, Chief Operations Officer of Zeus, said.
“Today’s announcement forms part of a wider strategy to enhance service levels throughout Ireland while increasing operational efficiencies,” he added.
Zeus founder Brian O’Sullivan said the opening of the new facility was of particular significance to him given that he grew up in east Cork.
“This will greatly improve our capability within the region, create new jobs, deliver a better work life balance for our colleagues and importantly, deliver greater service options to our customers,” he said.
Founded in 1998, Zeus, which employs 900 people, now has 51 locations worldwide.
