A 12-year-old boy has been killed in an overnight road crash in Co Limerick.
He was driving a car that was in collision with a lorry on the N21 at Rineroe.
It happened just before 2 am this morning at Rineroe near Adare.
Gardaí says the driver of the car was the sole occupant of the vehicle.
Emergency Services were alerted to the crash shortly before 2 am this morning.
His body has been removed to the morgue at Limerick University Hospital and the coroner has been notified.
The driver of the lorry, a man in his 40s, was not seriously injured.
Gardaí are appealing to any witnesses to come forward, in particular, road users who may have camera or dash-cam footage and were traveling on the N21 near the Adare area at the time of the collision.
