Leaving Cert appeals boost: One in five grades upgraded

Good news for Irish students: over one-fifth of Leaving Certificate grades appealed this year have been successfully upgraded, according to the State Examinations Commission (SEC).

The SEC revealed that 21% of appealed grades received higher marks, bringing relief and potentially new opportunities to many students. This significant success rate highlights the importance of the appeals process in ensuring fair and accurate results.

Students who participated in the appeals process can access their results online starting Friday at 11am. This eagerly awaited announcement will bring closure to those who have been anxiously waiting since submitting their appeals.

The Leaving Certificate, a crucial milestone in Irish education, plays a vital role in determining university admissions and future career paths. These upgraded results could open doors for students who initially missed out on their preferred courses or institutions.

According to The Irish Examiner, this year’s appeals outcome demonstrates the effectiveness of the review system in addressing potential discrepancies in the initial grading process.
