Major parties unveil battle plans in The Election showdown

According to The Journal, day twelve of the election campaign brings a flurry of manifesto launches and policy announcements, following last night’s heated 10-way RTÉ leaders’ debate.

Sinn Féin leads the day with its manifesto launch titled ‘The Choice For Change’, while the Social Democrats are set to reveal their own blueprint, highlighting key “deal breakers” for potential coalition talks. These include commitments to deliver 50,000 affordable homes and fully implement Sláintecare.

Meanwhile, other parties are focusing on specific policy areas. Fianna Fáil will detail its education plans, including increased teacher numbers and expanded school transport. Fine Gael is preparing to unveil healthcare cost reduction strategies, while Labour focuses on climate policy.

The Green Party is showcasing its ‘warmer homes’ initiative at a retrofitted Dublin property, demonstrating practical climate solutions. Separately, People Before Profit representatives will show solidarity with teachers protesting Leaving Certificate reforms.

The packed schedule reflects the intensifying campaign as parties vie to present their distinct visions for Ireland’s future.
