A man who exposed himself to a female garda officer has been jailed for three months. A Letterkenny District Court sentenced Michael Strain (33) for his indecent behavior after an arrest which took place on November 15 this year.
According to the Irish Mirror, Strain was first arrested for attacking a man on Main Street in Letterkenny but had been released later. The next day, he was seen shouting in the centre of the town where gardai approached and questioned. He became abusive to the officers and again arrested and brought to Letterkenny Garda Station.
While in the station, Strain pulled down his trousers, flashed at a female garda and then made a sexually derogative remark.
The Judge said the exposure charge was significant and added that the officer had more to be doing than getting herself exposed to. Following this, he sentenced Strain for three months.
Strain, whose mother was in the court, then attempted to hit a prison officer as he was being led out of the court and began shouting again.
