The streaming platform Netflix has introduced new games to its customers as part of extending their business. The five mobile games are now available for the android users worldwide. Two of these games are titled ‘Stranger Things’ which is a popular series on the platform and the other three are not related to the Netflix content.
“Just like our series, films and specials, we want to design games for any level of play and every kind of player, whether you’re a beginner or a lifelong gamer. And we’re just getting started. We’re excited to continue improving our mobile gaming experience and adding to our entertainment offering in the months ahead,” the company mentioned on its site.
There are no additional fees to purchase the games and the games are listed on the Netflix app itself. Existing users can click on the game which will lead to play store to download it. After downloading, users can play it using the app itself or from tapping the game on the home screen.
The games are available only for android users for now and the company is planning the launch of ios games soon. The games are not accessible from children’s profile on the app.
The five games are “Stranger Things: 1984,” “Stranger Things 3: The Game,” “Shooting Hoops,” “Card Blast” and “Teeter Up.”
The move is seen as a strategy of Netflix to compete with the other streaming platforms including Amazon Prime. Streaming platforms have received wide popularity during the pandemic days and many new platforms have been launched in the recent months.
