The Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA) has announced that Ana De Armas, Quentin Tarantino, and Jamie Lee Curtis will be among the presenters at the 80th Golden Globes.
Michaela Jae Rodriguez and Billy Porter, who co-starred in Pose and shared the best actress in a TV series drama award last year, are also on the list of presenters for the annual ceremony.
Natasha Lyonne from Orange is the New Black, Ana Gasteyer from Saturday Night Live, Colman Domingo from Euphoria, Nicole Byer from Nailed It!, and comedian Tracy Morgan will all perform during the awards show on January 10.
In addition to presenting, Niecy Nash-Betts is one of the nominees for best supporting actress in a TV limited series or motion picture for her work in Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story.
De Armas is also nominated for the best actress in a motion picture award for her portrayal of Marilyn Monroe in Andrew Dominik’s Blonde, while Lee Curtis has received a nod for the best supporting actress in a motion picture for her part in Everything Everywhere All At Once.
“Avatar: The Way of Water,” “Elvis,” “The Fabelmans,” “Tár” and “Top Gun: Maverick” are all up for best picture (Drama) this year, with “Babylon,” “The Banshees of Inisherin,” “Everything Everywhere All at Once,” “Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery” and “Triangle of Sadness” up for best picture (Musical/Comedy).
Eddie Murphy will be honored with the Cecil B. DeMille award and Ryan Murphy will be given the Carol Burnett award.
Among the many celebrities up for awards this year are Austin Butler, Hugh Jackman, Margot Robbie, Adam Driver, Daniel Craig, Brad Pitt, Eddie Redmayne, Andrew Garfield, and Kevin Costner.
The Golden Globes have recently been surrounded by controversy. Due to the Los Angeles Times’ investigation, which revealed that the HFPA had no Black members, NBC cancelled the broadcast of the event last year, which resulted in widespread boycotting of the programme.
But the HFPA announced that the 2023 ceremony would see the organisation make greater efforts to diversify its voting pool.
NBC and the Peacock app will broadcast the 2023 Golden Globe Awards live from the Beverly Hilton on January 10, 2023. Comedian Jerrod Carmichael will serve as the host.
