Average asking rents across Ireland rose by 3.4 per cent between January and March this year, surpassing €2,000 per month for the first time, according to the latest Daft.ie report.

The average monthly rent now stands at €2,053—up from €765 in 2011 and 48 per cent higher than pre-Covid levels.
Dublin remains the most expensive city, with average rents hitting €2,540, up 5.8 per cent year-on-year.
Other cities also saw steep increases: Limerick rents soared by 20 per cent to €2,405, Cork rose 13.6 per cent to €2,213, Galway jumped 12.6 per cent to €2,304, and Waterford climbed 9.9 per cent to €1,735.
