According to The Irish Examiner, Sinn Féin has unveiled an ambitious election blueprint targeting middle and working-class families, with bold proposals to transform childcare, taxation, and education costs.
The party’s comprehensive 180-page manifesto, launched in Dublin by leader Mary Lou McDonald, promises to cap childcare costs by next September, eliminate the Universal Social Charge (USC) for earnings up to €45,000, and end third-level education fees.
McDonald directly challenged voters, declaring her party as the sole vehicle for meaningful governmental change and urging the public to “give us that chance”. The manifesto represents a strategic pitch to address key voter concerns around family expenses and financial pressures.
The childcare cap aims to provide significant relief for working parents, while the USC reduction could offer tangible income increases for lower and middle-income earners. Abolishing third-level fees addresses educational accessibility, a critical issue for younger voters and families.
By focusing on these targeted interventions, Sinn Féin is positioning itself as a party committed to practical, immediate economic support for ordinary citizens.
