A Status Yellow wind warning will come in place for seven western counties from 3pm today. The warning come in the wake of a new threat from Storm Barra.
There can be fallen trees and power outage, Met Eireann warned.
The warning is for Donegal, Galway, Leitrim, Mayo, and Sligo until 11pm.
Wind can reach a speed of 50-65km/h with gusts of 90-110km/h with stronger winds expected along coasts and on higher ground. Heavy rain also expected.
The Status Yellow wind warning in place for Clare and Kerry ends at 8pm.
