Storm Barra will reach Ireland in the next 48 hours, Met Eireann has said. With the storm, Met Eireann forecasts heavy rain fall through out the country which may lead to localised flooding. A status yellow weather warning has been issued through out the country.
The storm and rain will hit the western counties more and there will be heavy tides in west, south sea, the forecaster said. Going out for fishing or swimming will make it dangerous.

All road users have to take extra care and try to drive as slow as possible given that the visibility might be low. Use of lower head lights and hazard lamps are preferred.
