Surge in Vacant Property Refurbishment grants in Cork County

Cork County Sees Significant Uptick in Vacant Property Refurbishment Grants

Cork County is witnessing a remarkable increase in the approval of Vacant Property Refurbishment Grants. To date, 478 applications have been approved, with 76 of those approvals occurring in the second quarter of 2024 alone.

According to Irishindependent, the grant, provided by the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage, aims to support the refurbishment of vacant and derelict homes across the country. This initiative not only helps in rejuvenating neglected properties but also addresses the housing needs in the area.

In addition to the approvals, Cork County Council received 115 new applications between April and June this year. This surge in applications indicates a growing interest among property owners in revitalizing unused spaces and contributing to the county’s housing market.

The substantial number of approvals and new applications reflect the program’s success and the community’s commitment to addressing housing issues. With continued support and participation, the Vacant Property Refurbishment Grant is poised to make a significant impact on Cork County’s housing landscape.
