Taoiseach Leo Varadkar launched a new jersey design for Ongar Cricket Club.
The launch was held at the Ongar Cricket Club on Saturday, April 1, 2023.

Ongar Cricket Club officially unveiled their new jerseys for Leinster League and T20 competitions for their first-ever season on 1st April 2023 in presence of over 250 supporters.
The chief guest of the event was the Honourable Prime Minister of Ireland, Taoiseach Leo Varadkar who launched the new jersey design as well spoke words of encouragement to all the members of the club. The event was graced with the presence of many honorable dignitaries such as Minister for Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth, Roderick O’Gorman, Cricket Leinster President, Mr. Pat Banahan, Senator Emer Currie, Cllr. Kieran Dennison, Cricket Development Manager for Fingal, Mr. Brian O’Rourke, Minister of State at the Department of Transport and Department of Environment, Climate and Communications, Jack Chambers, and Cllr. Tom Kitt.
Chairman of the Club Arun Katheri welcomed and thanked everyone for their presence with a brief welcome speech, which was followed by all the dignitaries giving speeches about the upcoming club and wishing good luck for their season.
The Taoiseach Leo Varadkar revealed the official jersey with a remote-controlled curtain opener with a countdown of 10, the prominent color of the T20 Jersey is yellow. All the dignitaries also signed on the newly unveiled Jerseys.
The Taoiseach presented mementos to all the sponsors of the club followed by CL President Pat handing over mementos to all the dignitaries including the Taoiseach.
Pat Banahan and Minister Roderick O’Gorman handed over hats and Jerseys to the players of the Club which was followed by a photoshoot of the club members with all the dignitaries in the newly unveiled Jerseys.
Senator Emer Currie also shared on her Instagram profile her happiness at being invited to the event.

At end of the event, All the dignitaries were involved in some fun cricket where they batted and were bowled by cricket development officer Brian O’Rourke. This brought a lot of cheer at the venue.
