Tesco Ireland have confirmed that safety measures in their stores are likely to continue beyond the October 22 grand reopening.
The restrictions that were set in during the pandemic are set to lift in just over a week’s time, but mask wearing in retail settings will remain compulsory.
Tesco, the Irish supermarket giant has confirmed that the shopping experience in their stores will not be all that different.
A Tesco spokesperson said: ““The safety of our customers and colleagues remains our number one priority and we continue to review and adhere to Government safety advice and public health guidelines in all our stores.
However, social distancing is recommended in store while masks are compulsory.
The October 22 reopening itself is under consideration after the most recent comments by NPHET and the Taoiseach.
Taoiseach Micheál Martin has said he will make a further announcement on the easing of final restrictions.
