The Most Awaited Indian Film Festival of Ireland 2022 To Be Held In Dublin

Indian Film Festival of Ireland (IFFI) 2022, is back in its full glory to celebrate its 13th edition of Indian Films from 21st to 24th October 2022. The grand opening of IFFI-2022 will be launched by the National Award Winner actress Divya Dutta.

The Indian Film Festival of Ireland is an international event taking place annually in Ireland, founded by Siraj Zaidi, the Festival Director. The IFFI is the only film festival in Ireland that aims to create an environment of collaboration among Indian and European filmmakers.

Siraj Zaidi with his experience of thirty years in independent film distribution and exhibition wanted to introduce Indian films at the Irish Film Institute. He decided to start a dedicated Indian film festival to make Indian films more mainstream and to introduce people in Ireland to the global appeal and popularity of Indian cinema.

The successful nine-year journey of the IFFI has helped to make Indian cinema more mainstream in Ireland.

This year, the IFFI will be taking place from 21st – 24th October 2022 in Dublin. It is a 3-day festival which will showcase some of the best films from Indian Cinema.

The official launch of IFFI-2022 was held at the St. Helen Radisson Hotel on Friday, 14th October 2022 where the poster was launched officially.

The grand opening of IFFI-2022 will be launched by the National Award Winner multi-talented actress Divya Dutta. Focusing on regional films, the opening ceremony will cherish the special screening of the Punjabi Film “Maa”, translated as “Mother”. The movie, where Divya plays the leading role of Manjeet Kaur or “Maa”, will be screened with English subtitles.

The event is in association with Bollywood Jalwa Production and the movie screening will be held at Dundrum Town Centre. The ticket to the event can be purchased through Eventbrite.

This ticket will include attending the opening ceremony of IFFI 2022, a meet and greet with the multi-talented actress Divya Dutta, and dinner followed by a special screening of the Punjabi movie, “Maa”.

IFFI or The Indian Film Festival of Ireland curates Indian films from different regions of India thereby making Indian cinema more mainstream across Europe and introducing Irish audiences to the global appeal and popularity of Indian cinema.
