Three men die in separate road incidents in Tipperary, Offaly

Three men have died on the roads following a motorcycle collision in Co Tipperary, a suspected hit-and-run, also in Tipperary, and a crash into the water in Co Offaly.

The motorcycle and lorry accident on New Road, Lisronagh in Clonmel, Co. Tipperary, is being investigated by the Garda.

On Monday, around 10 am, the collision

The motorcyclist, a man in his 40s, was pronounced dead at the scene and his body was removed to Tipperary University Hospital.

Separately, a 60-year-old man was killed early on Monday in Templemore in what is suspected to have been a hit-and-run.

Gardaí were alerted to reports of a man on the side of the R433 road near Clonmore Village shortly after 1am.

The man was later pronounced dead at the scene.

The road was closed yesterday morning to allow for a technical examination of the area.

Meanwhile in Co Offaly, gardaí are investigating the circumstances which saw a van enter the water at Banagher Marina, Co Offaly on Sunday at around 5.30pm.

The van’s driver, a man in his 70s, was treated by emergency personnel after they arrived on the scene and taken to Ballinasloe Hospital, where he was later declared dead. No one else was in the vehicle. Gardaí are appealing to witnesses to all three incidents to come forward, particularly any road users who may have camera footage.
