Fuel and Broadband Prices Set to Surge in Ireland

Starting April 1st, Irish motorists will feel the pinch at the pumps as petrol and diesel prices are slated to rise. Petrol will see a bump of 4 cents per liter, while diesel will increase by 3 cents. Additionally, gas oil prices will also climb by 1.5 cents. This uptick in fuel costs follows the government’s decision to reinstate excise duty, previously waived amidst the Ukraine conflict.

In tandem with the fuel hike, telecom giants like Eir and Vodafone have announced a 7.6% increase in broadband bills. Similarly, Three’s customers will face a 4.5% uptick in their bills. Other providers like Sky and Virgin Media are also set to raise rates this April.

For those feeling the squeeze, experts recommend exploring alternative broadband and TV services, which could yield savings of 40-50 euros monthly.

Moreover, brace yourselves for a slight increase in beer prices by 10 cents towards the end of April. These changes underline the financial adjustments looming for Irish households, affecting both transportation and essential services.
