The Irish man and Israeli woman who came to Ireland from Israel have been released from mandatory hotel quarantine. They have challenged the legality of their detention as they had taken all doses of the vaccine. Court hearings are still pending on this case.
Israel has been included in the list of Irish Government where the immigrants should undergo mandatory quarantine. Even though with their vaccination status the travellers had questioned the legality of the decision. The government had removed Israel from the designated list.
Mr Derek Jennings who flew into Ireland with his sick father had been put into mandatory quarantine. He was released from quarantine earlier today but he questioned the quarantine decision as he appealed on humanitarian grounds. He opined that quarantine is good but a logic thinking on the situation is needed.
The case against Jennings and Israeli health worker Inbar Aviezer will be heard on Monday .
