IKEA to open largest regional store in Waterford next week

IKEA is set to open its newest plan and order point in Waterford next week, marking its largest operation outside of Dublin.

The new outlet will be located in the Tramore Road Business Park and represents a major expansion of the Swedish retailer’s presence in the southeast.

This will be IKEA’s seventh plan and order point in Ireland, but significantly, it is eight times larger than existing sites of its kind. The 840 square metre space allows customers to view a selection of ranges, work with IKEA specialists to plan their purchases, and place orders for home delivery.

In a first for IKEA’s regional outlets, the Waterford location will stock 100 products available for direct purchase. The store will operate on a cashless basis and is designed to improve accessibility for customers who are not near the full-size Dublin location.

Additionally, the store will provide a free click-and-collect service and function as a returns location, adding extra convenience for shoppers in the region.
