Limerick and Cork win in carnival football organised by Kerala House

The past bank holiday weekend saw an exciting conclusion to the children’s and adults’ football competition, organised by Kerala House at the National Sports Campus, Branches Town, which featured 32 teams from all over Ireland.

The Daily Delight Boys, a team sponsored by a major marketer of frozen foods, defeated Black Rock FC in the under-13 division final to win the championship.

In the Under 15 category, Finclas Blasters lifted the Cup by defeating Blanchestown Tigers in a penalty shoot out.

In the final between Rebels Cork and Kerry Warriors in the 30+ division, Cork won by a solitary goal.

In a thrilling under-30s division with 12 teams, Riddiry FC from Limerick retained last year’s trophy after coming from a goal down against Fourstar FC from Tala, Dublin.

Trophies will be distributed to the winners of the competitions at the Mega Carnival on Saturday 17th June at Lucan Village.

The trophies and cash prizes for the football matches are sponsored by Le divano Italia Furniture,Spice village and Just right overseas studies limited.

A penalty shootout tournament for both adults and children will be held on carnival day, the organisers said.
