A new survey by the American Chamber of Commerce Ireland reveals that 60 per cent of US multinationals operating in the country intend to increase their employee numbers over the next year.

An additional 32.5 per cent say they plan to maintain current staffing levels, signaling continued confidence in Ireland as a key base for operations.
The survey, released ahead of a US Independence Day event in Dublin, gathered responses from member companies representing approximately 52,000 employees across Ireland.
According to the results, nine in ten respondents said their corporate headquarters hold a positive view of Ireland as an investment destination.
Furthermore, 68 per cent of companies surveyed confirmed they already have plans to invest further in Ireland within the next five years.
However, the survey also identified significant challenges. Nearly one-third of the companies cited housing availability as the most pressing issue impacting their ability to expand and invest in the Irish market. This mirrors ongoing concerns across industries about housing supply and affordability.
Overall, the findings point to a robust outlook for US investment in Ireland, but also underscore the need to address infrastructure constraints if the country is to remain competitive and attractive for international growth.
