A man in his late 30s has died in a workplace incident in Co. Wexford.
The incident occurred at 9.15 a.m. while he was working on a building site in Gorey.
Gardaí and emergency services rushed to the scene and it is understood the man, a native of Co Wexford, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The scene was preserved and both the Health and Safety Authority (HSA) and local coroner were notified.
A Garda statement said: “At approximately 9.15am, gardaí and emergency services were alerted after a man in his late 30s was fatally injured while working on a building site in Gorey.
The deceased man has since been removed to the mortuary at University Hospital Waterford and a post mortem examination will take place later.
An investigation into the circumstances of the man’s death is ongoing.
